Privacy Policy

OKTO Compliance Capture is a browser extension for real-estate brokerages that use OKTO Software. It lets an authorized user send the content of a web page or document they are viewing to their own OKTO account for advertising-compliance review. This policy explains what the extension does and does not do with information.

What the extension accesses

• Page or document text you choose to capture. Only when you click Capture this page (or select a PDF/text file) does the extension read the visible text of the current page or the file you selected. It does not read pages in the background.
• Your settings. The capture token and the OKTO site URL you enter are stored in the browser using chrome.storage.sync so you don't have to re-enter them.
• The current tab's URL, used only to match the page to the correct monitored account at the moment you capture.

What the extension does NOT do

• It does not collect your browsing history, keystrokes, passwords, or form data.
• It does not run, track, or capture anything in the background — only on your explicit click.
• It contains no analytics, advertising, or third-party trackers.
• It does not sell or share your data with anyone, and it is not used for any purpose unrelated to your brokerage's compliance review.

Where captured content goes

Captured text is sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection directly to the OKTO Software server for the account you configured (by default oktosoftware.com). It is stored in that brokerage's OKTO account and used solely to generate advertising-compliance findings for the brokerage. No captured content is sent anywhere else.

Authentication

The extension authenticates with a capture token you copy from OKTO, not with your OKTO login. You can revoke and regenerate this token at any time in OKTO under Compliance → Browser extension; doing so immediately stops the old token from working.

Data retention

Captured content and any resulting compliance flags live in your OKTO account and follow your brokerage's OKTO data-retention settings. The token and URL stored in your browser remain until you remove the extension or clear them in its settings.

Permissions, briefly

• activeTab + scripting — to read the text of the current tab when you click Capture.
• storage — to remember your token and OKTO URL.
• Host access to oktosoftware.com — to send captured content to your OKTO account.
